This is both a B and C ride. I will be ride more B pace than the C pace. If you start at Hendy Woods, the distance is only 43 miles. The longer alternative is to start in Booneville, which adds about 20 miles and includes some miles on Hwy 128.

The hardest climb is at the beginning, but there are rollers along the ridge for 14 miles until we descend to Elk on the Mendocino coast.

Since it is a 2-hour drive, this ride will be cancelled if there is any chance of rain. Please email me if you plan on going on the ride and indicate if you can drive or want a ride. I will email you Thursday, Oct 10 to confirm the ride status. I will try to help with ride connections also.

You will have to get up early to allow time to get to the start point by 9am. If we have good weather, this will be a ride you will remember.

Something New and Different
Put on your calendar an out-of-town ride for October 12. We will go to Mendocino County starting from Philo riding to Elk (on the Mendocino coast) over the Philo-Greenwood Rd. This is a beautiful, lightly travelled road that follows a ridge line above the Navarro River all the way to the coast. We will ride on a gorgeous stretch of Hwy 1 for about 6 miles. The ride is 43 miles and 5,900 ft elevation gain. Requires getting up early, driving about 2 hours and desire to see something new and beautiful. A longer option is to depart from Booneville, adding about 20 miles, some of which is on Hwy 128. http://ridewithgps.com/routes/2405670
